I figured out that having something delicious to eat in the evenings was going to eliminate such a lot of stress in my life. And yes, the sock-shoe thing is joyful!
Beautiful sock and shoe combinations, Louise - I can imagine the joy you feel wearing them! Thank you for sharing your cozy winter recipes - having fallback meals makes such a difference during the winter months when energy is lower and the cold just makes us want to hibernate with a blanket at the end of the day. I so related to your notes on your raincoat and footwear - I was just remarking to my husband yesterday that investing the time and money into finding the perfect winter outerwear over the past few years means that I have been enjoying winter much more this year.
I love your socks!! We eat very similarly to this... Although one of my regrets is only having a teeny freezer so we tend to work through the whole chicken in various guises... With roast potatoes, then a soup for the week's lunches. I'll often do a ragu the same way and eat it in a few different ways. I'm working on my wardrobe (it's very small) but in still feel like I'm missing a good chunky cashmere jumper. Such a staple at this time of year xx
I have a decent freezer section, but honestly if I was replanning my kitchen I might be tempted to add another little freezer! And the socks are bringing all the joy :)
I so love your Friulane style shoes and beautiful patterned socks. It looks rich and cozy. Yes socks are the key item of winter! And now I want to go make a potato soup.
I’ve been wearing the friulane a lot at home, and they are so comfortable and cute - I feel happy whenever I look down at my feet! And yes, carry winter soups are the best.
Louise, I aspire to your level of dedication in ensuring a homemade meal is always within reach. So many good ideas here!
Your sock-shoe combos are also sheer delight.

It makes far more difference than you think it will, doesn't it!

Are they very flat? I have a limp and need a teensy heel to help me walk
They are utterly flat, unfortunately.
